Artillery. My grandfarther served in WW2 he died in Japanese hands.
He was on the last ship into Singerpore. My Granfarther was 1119537
Gnr Arthur Wharton. He did his recruite training at Bamber Bridge,
Preston, Lanc's. Any information would be grateful. - Andrew Rowlands

16 LtAD Regt 1968 to 1972. Gunnery Staff 1972 to 1992. Air Defence
Regt Central Military Command Dubai 1986 to 1996. I am now working
for as a trainer for a H&S company. I would be interested in hearing
from anyone who knows me.

I joined the RA on a Type 'S' Engagement (Potential Officer or Plonk!)
Completed my basic training at 17 Trg. Regt. B Section, Alamein Troop
in 1970. I went on to do a potential officers course run by 17 Trg.
Rgt but was told I would make a better NCO than an officer!! I had
the choice to stay on or leave. An opportunity arose to emigrate to
Australia which I took up. I served for 2 years in the Royal Australian
Artillery (Army Reserve 2/15 Fd. Regt. RAA). I have been in Australia
since 1971. If anyone from B Section, Alamein Troop, circa 1970 remembers
me I would like to hear from you. Instructors - Bdr. Horwell? Sgt.

Dortmund and Larkill (anyone who remembers Tina Tolson and D Sub, arguably
the best Gun crew in the Regt), 5 Bty 25 Regt Paderborn 76-80. Regimental
Police JLRRA 80-82, 19 Field Dortmund 82-89 (infamous Provost Sergeant
), 27 FD Dortmund 89-93 (once again infamous Provost Sergeant then
BQMS H.Q. Bty). Now at Coventry University serving with a few old Gunners,
Nick Shaw, Mick Whysall, Ron Cooper and Gwyn Harvey.

'Win' - I served with 50th. R.A. in Germany from 1961 to 1962 and
7 Para RHA from 1962 to 1967. I would like to contact my old mates
from "Bulls Troop" 7 Para RHA, who are "Spud" Murphy, "Bean" forgot
his surname, Eddy Yallop, Brian Burke, "Bazz" Palmer, "Scouse" Bowen,
Arthur Read (he broke his neck while we were drinking on the Sheiks
Beach in Barhain). "Bronco" Lane who later joined the SAS and came
out with the rank of Major. Last but not least "Johnny" Moore with
whom I went from Aden to Mombassa for two weeks R&R. Two weeks which
we both will never forget. We need your new address

(Woody) - I started my training in 1991 at Gamecock Barracks in Nuneaton.
I was a member of Alanbrooke Troop and was trained up from the notorious
Sgt. Goddard. After my passing out I went to 16 Regiment RA in Dortmund
Germany. In 1993 I served 6 months in Belfast Northern Ireland with
11 Sphinx Bty. Later I became a member of 30 Rogers Company and there
I stayed until my release in 1996 in Woolwich London. If anybody reads
this that still remembers me please contact me.
