Day, Robert
I am trying to trace my Great Grandfather, Robert Day, who joined the Royal Horse Artillery before WW1 along with his Brother-in-law Charles Rayfield. In WW1 they where both in E Battery and Robert was a Gun Setter and Charles was a gunner. Charles Died in Action on the 12/09/1917, his service number from CWGC was 43338. As both Robert and Charles joined on the same day at Woolwich, I am hoping that this number can be of help. Robert did survive the war, and I know that during his career he went to India and Egypt, before WW1 or after I do not know. I would be ever so grateful if anyone could help me find any information on him, and even his own service number, Which would help Firepower, and myself in the search. - Tracey Westell
